For my final photo story assignment, I followed the members of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts throughout the final weeks of the semester as they prepared for and performed their Fall Showcase. Despite being a young organization at Penn State, the amount of members in this group has grown immensely in the past year, enriching the community of dancers at Penn State. The proud members are passionate about learning from each other, expressing emotion through movement, and sharing their love for all types of dance.

THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR DANCE ARTS

THROUGH PRACTICE...

AND PERFORMANCE...

"Dance is anything. Dance can be rolling on the ground or being a beautiful ballerina. It can be anything that you want to put out into the world and show other people."

"I want people to understand that dance is hard. There's so much more that people don't see... how hard we actually train, how many hours we are dancing . Tonight,  I hope that people see how much we go through to be dancers and how much we love it."

"Dance has taught me to live in the moment, and to appreciate what is going on around me. When you're on that stage your mind is blank, nothing else matters. You just live in the moment, and for me, that's the most important thing."
